Year 11 students are now entering their second semester of senior studies. We have completed two multiple choice trial examinations to date and have scaled these results using a similar approach to that of the BSSS calculating ATAR results. The Teaching and Learning Office and Careers Advisor will start scheduling meetings with Year 11 students to discuss their results so far. We will counsel students around packages and future enrolment in universities as well as ATAR requirements. All Year 11 students are encouraged to approach Semester Two with dedication, working to their potential, submitting drafts and using feedback from teachers to improve their outcomes. Students are reminded that all assessments are important and will have an impact on their ATAR in Year 12. ATAR estimates will be calculated as soon as Semester Two results become available.
Year 12 students are in the final stretch of their journey at the College. We are continuing our AST preparation program on Fridays and students are encouraged to make time to attend the Thursday morning sessions in the Library. Mr Foskett will have more information about these sessions. Please encourage your son to maintain his commitment to his studies and to use all the support structures in place here at the College. It is vital that your son subscribes to healthy eating habits and commits to enough sleep every night. The final preparation day for the AST examination will take place on 30 August, here at the College. We wish all Year 12 students sitting the AST the best of luck with their examinations on 3 and 4 September. It is vital to remember not to start the examination if you are not feeling 100%. You will be considered for the second sitting on 15 and 16 October if you can explain your absence with a medical certificate. If you have any questions around the AST, please contact the Teaching and Learning Office.
